Our school works closely with many different sporting organisations in the community across multiple codes including soccer, Gaa, athletics, gymnastics, swimming and rugby. Scoil Cholmcille have a long and proud association with sporting bodies and clubs within our town and county. We are delighted to say that these partnerships continue to flourish. Our pupils also participate in various initiatives set up by second and third level institutions within the town which give our students exposure to coaching while availing of top class facilities.

Active Committee

Our Active committee was selected from willing volunteers on the 23rd October 2019. They held their first meeting on Thursday 24th October. They discussed many areas regarding activities for all and drew up a plan going forward. Well done boys and girls!

One of the committees first tasks was to design and carry out a pupil questionnaire throughout the school. They then met and discussed matters that had been brought to their attention.

Changes followed such as new equipment and activities for both yards and a suggestion box in the hall.  In term 2, committee members carried out the What Club Are You In? They generated a bar chart displaying the results.

Active School Flag Slogan

Active Committee members asked all classes to come up with a slogan during one week in February 2020. Each class teacher selected the top two entries from their class that were selected to go back to the Committee and be picked as part of an overall school winner.

Our Committee selected joint winner’s from Mrs. O’Connor’s third class. Congratulations to Noah and Wiktoria who co-designed the winning slogan.
